About This Instrument
The CIE/7050 is part of the CIE/7000 Series oil dielectric strength test set range, built for breakdown/withstand voltage testing of transformer and circuit breaker insulating oil per IS 6792:1992. The cast-resin H.V. transformer features graded insulation with the centre point of the H.V. winding grounded, specially designed to withstand frequent sparkover events. A continuously variable autotransformer raises output from zero; zero-start interlocking prevents energising the H.V. circuit unless the regulator is at zero; an interlocked H.T. door cutout means the set cannot be energised with the test chamber open. A memory device retains the breakdown voltage reading after automatic tripping. Metering is analog (96 mm² moving-iron voltmeter, L.T. side, scaled in kV) — digital metering is available at extra cost. Test vessel (oil cell with two brass spheres, 12.5–13 mm diameter, 4 mm or 2.5 mm adjustable gap per IS 6792:1992) is supplied as standard. Available in manual and motorised (MOT) variants; motorised sets advance voltage at approx. 2 kV/second. Note: 75 kV and 80 kV tiers are confirmed by price list but not by the catalogue PDF — confirm construction details with manufacturer before specifying those tiers.
