Compact / Economical Insulation Testers

The CIE/555 is a compact, economical insulation tester in a high-grade moulded bakelite body, designed for everyday site and workshop use at test voltages from 100 V to 1000 V. Like all CIE hand-driven insulation testers, it requires no batteries or mains supply — the hand-cranked generator provides the test voltage, making it completely self-contained for field use.

The CIE/555 is suited to testing household wiring, light industrial equipment, motors and pumps at low voltage, electrical panels, and distribution boards. It is widely used by electricians, electrical contractors, maintenance engineers, and testing laboratories across India for routine insulation resistance checks on low-voltage equipment.

At 1.4 kg and 155 × 104 × 70 mm, the CIE/555 is the most portable insulation tester in the CIE range — easy to carry on site and store in a tool kit. It conforms to ISS: 2992-1987 and carries a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Custom resistance ranges from 0–10 MΩ to 0–500 MΩ are available to specification.
