Micro-Ohm Meters

The MR-253A is a bench-type digital micro-ohm meter using the 4-terminal (Kelvin) measurement method to eliminate lead and contact resistance from the measurement. This makes it suitable for measuring very low resistances accurately — from contact resistance of switchgear and busbar joints, to winding resistance of transformers and motors, bonding resistance in earthing systems, and resistance of relay coils.

A 4-terminal micro-ohm meter is essential wherever resistance values are in the micro-ohm or milli-ohm range and must be measured precisely. The MR-253A provides multiple test current ranges, allowing the appropriate current to be selected for the resistance being measured, with direct readout in micro-ohms on a seven-segment LED display.

Micro-ohm meters are used in substation commissioning (busbar and switch contact resistance), transformer testing (winding resistance measurement), relay testing laboratories, quality control in manufacturing, and research and calibration facilities.
