About This Instrument
The MR-253A (formerly catalogued as MR-253) is a compact, precision bench-top micro-ohm meter for measuring low values of resistance — in cables, transformer and motor windings, switch and relay contact resistance, PCB track resistance, and ammeter shunt wire calibration. It uses a four-terminal (Kelvin) measurement technique that eliminates errors from lead and contact resistance, which is critical for accurate measurement in the microohm-to-kiloohm range. Displayed on a 3½-digit, 1999-count seven-segment LED display. Test current varies automatically by range, from 1 A (lowest resistance ranges) down to 0.01 mA (highest range). Accuracy: ±0.5% ±2 digits. Built using MOS LSI technology. Mains powered, 230 V, 50 Hz. Dimensions: 192 × 96 × 230 mm. Weight: 2.25 kg. Supplied with 2 pairs of test leads.
