About This Instrument
The CIE/222M is a hand-driven generator-type earth tester for direct measurement of earth resistance in power circuits, telecommunications, railway electrification, domestic and industrial installations, and lightning protection systems. Available in 3-terminal type (earth resistance) and 4-terminal type (earth resistance plus soil resistivity). The 4-terminal type is designed for soil investigation work including geological, agricultural, and civil engineering surveys (tunnels, drainage, sewerage, tube railways). Accuracy ±5% per IS: 9223/1979. A centrifugal governor holds output voltage constant regardless of crank speed. Measurement is unaffected by stray AC currents or back e.m.f. of earth electrolysis.
