About This Instrument
The CIE/RTS-33 is a three-phase relay test set for testing distance relays, over-current relays, over/under-voltage relays, earth fault relays, and directional-element relays. It is a two-unit system: Unit 1 houses the current/voltage source and measuring facilities; Unit 2 is the dedicated phase-shifter unit. Together they allow full 0–360° phase angle control between voltage and current (coarse 60° steps + fine ±30°), enabling genuine directional and distance relay testing not possible with single-phase sets. Three-phase input: 415 V ±10%, 4-wire, 50 Hz. Test current: 0–1/5/10/25/50 A (five taps, 0–100% regulation each). Continuous duty up to 10 A; 25 A and 50 A intermittent. Test voltage: 0–110% of 110 V phase-to-phase, three-phase, 50 Hz. Fixed DC voltage: isolated 30/110/220 V at 100 VA for 30 minutes. Phase-to-phase fault mode: selected phase currents automatically placed in opposition. Facility to check phase sequence before testing. Built-in digital timer (0–9.999 sec and 0–99.99 sec). Rated burden: 250 VA (current and voltage circuits). Units connected by 1-metre interconnection cable.
