About This Instrument
The CIE/RTS-5A is a portable secondary current injection relay test set in a single trolley-style unit (top-hinged lid), for testing protective relays, earth fault relays, circuit breakers, and tripping coils in both laboratory and field. Current output is continuously variable across seven ranges (0–1 A to 0–200 A) at 6 V or 50 V for lower ranges (0–1 A to 0–20 A), or 6 V for higher ranges (0–50 A to 0–200 A), via a multi-ratio wound primary current transformer. An AC/DC changeover switch selects either a continuously variable AC voltage output (0–230 V, 240 VA) or a DC voltage output (0–240 V, 240 VA) — these are alternatives, not simultaneous. Digital timer (0–9.999 sec or 0–99.99 sec, accuracy ±1%) with NO/NC auxiliary contact selection and automatic tripping of current output on relay actuation or overload. Max burden: 1000 VA. Supplied with operation manual, schematic, test report, and guarantee certificate.
