Just for fun
DIT-5000, in your browser Beta
A 5000 V digital insulation tester you can try right now. Turn the dial to a test voltage, press TEST/STOP and watch the high-voltage LED, the voltage and the resistance reading climb.
Drag the dial or click a position. Keys: ← → dial, T TEST/STOP, H HOLD, L LIGHT.

How the DIT-5000 works
- Four test voltages: 500 V, 1000 V, 2500 V and 5000 V, with auto-ranging resistance from 1 MΩ to 200 GΩ. Use the higher voltages for HV motors, long cables and switchgear.
- HV indicator: the red LED lights whenever the output is live. Never touch the leads or the object while it is on, and after the test wait for the object to discharge.
- Voltage collapse: the tester can deliver about 1 mA. On a failed insulation it cannot hold the test voltage, so the applied voltage on the display drops. That is a fault signature in itself.
- Guard lead: a dirty cable end leaks across its surface and hides the true insulation. Connecting GUARD routes that leakage around the measurement.
- AC voltage: the 750 V~ position is a secondary function for checking that a circuit is dead before testing. It is not a full multimeter.
This is a training simulation. The ranges, accuracy tiers and test voltages come from the DIT-5000 specification; the spec gives one overall resistance range, so the simulator applies it at every test voltage. Test objects are idealised models, and the exact display layout, lead sockets and button behaviour of the physical instrument are approximated. Always follow the instruction manual and your site safety procedure. Never test live circuits.
