About This Instrument
The PSI-1 is a disc-rotating phase sequence indicator in a bakelite body. The rotating disc physically shows the direction of phase rotation (RYB or RBY), giving an immediate visual indication that is easy to interpret even in bright field lighting. It is used before connecting or energising any 3-phase motor, generator, or transformer — verifying correct phase sequence prevents reverse rotation, mechanical damage, and safety hazards. The PSI-1 connects to the 3-phase supply via three colour-coded test leads. Compact and lightweight, it is a standard tool for electrical commissioning engineers, electricians, and industrial maintenance teams.
