About This Instrument
The DIT-5005 is a compact, hand-held digital insulation tester with a 3½-digit LCD display, providing direct measurement of insulation resistance for electrical equipment, household appliances, and industrial, commercial, and residential installations. It is housed in a rugged ABS body and includes a facility to be used as a bench-top instrument as well as a hand-held meter. The instrument is powered by Ni-Cd rechargeable cells, charged via the supplied charging cord, with low-battery indication on the display when recharging is needed. A single push-test button initiates the measurement, with the result read directly off the LCD in megohms. The DIT-5005 is well suited to insulation testing of motors, transformers, and machines; household appliances such as mixers, toasters, and washing machines; industrial, commercial, and residential electrical installations; and electrical cables used in distribution and communication networks.
