About This Instrument
The CIE/666 is a hand-driven generator-type insulation tester built into a seasoned wooden body with sunmica finish, offering a more traditional, robust enclosure. Available in a wider voltage range than the metal-body CIE/444 — from 100 V up to 10,000 V — making it suitable for higher-voltage insulation testing including HV switchgear and higher-class transformer windings. Like the CIE/444, it generates its own test voltage via a hand-cranked A.C. generator with centrifugal governor, eliminating any need for external power. The wooden cabinet has a detachable lid, carrying handle, and lock. Scale length is 100 mm. Quick response: 3 seconds. Conforms to ISS: 2992/1987.
